Today I had a lovely lunch with my oldest friend, Nicole. By that description I mean that I’ve known her since I was a baby, not that she’s particularly old. (She is two days older than me.) It’s always so nice to catch up on life with her. I feel that the people who know where you come from know you in a way that new friends never will. I tried to explain this to Mr. B once, but I don’t think he understood what I meant.
After lunch I did a little shopping at Target and hung out with my mom. Dinner was at my grandma’s and she had planned some sort of surprise that my mom and I had been trying to figure out for days. It was all very mysterious and she was uncertain as to whether the mystery dinner “thing” would arrive in time. The “thing” did arrive on time and it turned out to be a raclette party grill. I have never tried raclette and I had so much fun manning the grill with my aunt and topping everything with bubbling cheese and different sauces. As an added bonus, the grill is coming home with me to Boston! Raclette party!!
I’ve wanted to try raclette since I went to Switzerland in 2008. I thought of linking to that Switzerland post and it reminded me that I have had a bunch of blogs in the past. Tonight I imported those old posts to this here blog. If you’d like, you can check out some of my travels, thoughts, and cooking back through early 2008. I guess that means my 5 year blogiversary is coming up pretty soon. Maybe I should throw a party or something… Raclette party?
