Last night we had dinner at Oven and Shaker, a modern Italian restaurant with wood-fired pizza, lots of tasty small plates, and delicious fancy cocktails. One creative highlight was a beet arancine stuffed with goat cheese.
Today we went snow shoeing at Mount Hood Ski Bowl. I have never been snow shoeing before and for some reason I thought it required some element of skill. (Newsflash: It doesn’t.) However, it was a wonderful way to hike through pristine white snow and see lots of pretty trees. After our snowy adventure, we had dinner at Trigger, a TexMex restaurant with a killer sweet and smoky chicken quesadilla and distinctly un-classy dishes like guacamole queso dip with brisket and fried avocado tacos. Tomorrow, I think we will keep things a little more low key – perhaps some shopping or a movie in town. And of course, lots more good eats!
