The upcoming weeks are going to be good ones. There’s an exciting chill in the air, and we even got some snow this week. Winter is coming and I like that. This weekend is relatively low key for me. I have a bunch of homework and an exam, but it’s the last weekend that I will spend in Boston for a while, so I’m going to try to relax and enjoy it.
Next weekend I am going Atlanta, GA to attend the ASHA Convention, which is my first professional conference! I am excited to learn a ton, enter lots of raffles, and maybe talk to some companies at the career fair. I am sharing a hotel room with two of my classmates, so it should be fun!
As you probably know, the following weekend is Thanksgiving. I am heading up to Vermont to spend the holiday with B’s family, which is something I haven’t done for a few years. It will be great to spend time with everyone, especially the newest member of the family, Hudson, who I’m sure has grown like crazy over the last few months.
The first weekend of December is B’s and my “dating” anniversary. One day in December, almost six years ago, we spent the entire day together (3 meals and one missed Giant’s game) and realized that maybe we weren’t just going to be friends after all… Even though we’ve been married for a year and a half, we still think that day is worth celebrating. We spend it in Portland, ME each year and it is delicious.
The second weekend of December, we are going to see the Giant’s play the Saints. Immediately after that, I have finals. After five weeks of non-stop action, I’m thinking a post-finals Hanukkah party may be in order. Hm… I’m imagining… a brisket “slider” with a dollop of horseradish sour cream and pickled red onions, sandwiched between two mini latkes. Think my guests will like that?
