24-by-24 Update #1

I’m checking in on my 24-by-24 list!  I’m not as far along as I would like to be and I’m suddenly so busy with graduate school that I don’t know if I will manage to do everything in the next six months, but I’m okay with that.  It’s nice to keep in mind the things I’d like to do, even if I don’t get to them right now.

Cooking

  • Make at least 3 2 1 new kinds of popsicles in my Zuko (Strawberry Banana Yogurt Popsicle, Cranberry Orange Popsicle)
  • Make breads from scratch: challah, ciabatta, bagels
  • Make creme brulee from scratch
  • Make mayonnaise from scratch
  • Make key lime pie from scratch
  • Make a loaded cheesecake from scratch (with candy of some sort- PB cups?)
  • Make veggie paella from scratch (and finally use my saffron)
  • Make at least 3 kinds of macarons from scratch
  • Learn how to hard boil and soft boil eggs perfectly
  • Make Christmas cookies to swap this year
  • Keep buying lots of fresh fruit and vegetables (Boston Organics delivers them to our door every other week.)

Relationships

  • Finish all the rest of the wedding thank you notes
  • Send birthday cards to family members on birthdays/holidays (Ongoing.  There’s a birthday coming up this week!)
  • Attend at least three foodie/blogger/Yelp/Meet-Up events (I signed up to get Boston Brunchers e-mails.  I hope to attend an even soon.)
  • Find a special way to make this first year of marriage totally awesome!  (This one may complete itself!)

Health/Beauty

  • Run a 5k
  • Lose 25 pounds (Not sure about this one.  I’ve only lost a couple of pounds since June…)
  • Figure out how to embrace my naturally wavy hair so that it looks nice day-to-day (Ongoing, but going pretty well!)

Miscellaneous

  • Go Camping (Went camping this weekend in Bear Brook Park, NH)
  • Go Kayaking (It may be too late for this one this year…)
  • Go to at least 3 2 1 festivals (1. MoS Let’s Talk About Food Festival, 2. ArtBeat Festival)
  • Try for all A’s my first semester of grad school (Ongoing.  I got an A in my summer class, which is a good start!)
  • Take lots of pictures (Ongoing, but going well!)
  • Combine all of my blogs.  (I have been so unhappy with my blog set-up for so long that I stopped posting.  I need to fix this issue!)
