Part of the reason I haven’t posted lately is because I’m in the process of moving this website yet again. I just feel a little funny posting because I don’t know where to do it.
Another part is that I’m in the middle of finals so I have a lot of work to do right now and not a lot of time for other things. However, I did find enough time to go ahead and get myself engaged!
My boyfriend, now fiance, proposed on Thursday night (our three year anniversary) by taking me to our favorite restaurant and serenading me with the song “How Sweet It Is,” backed-up by a couple of the people in our A Cappella group. What a romantic.
We then went up to Portland, ME for the weekend where we cuddled by the faux fire and tasted fancy olive oils and balsamic vinegars at LeRoux Kitchen in Old Port. We did some Christmas shopping and enjoyed the fantastic french fries at the fun and funky Duckfat and had an impeccable romantic Italian meal at Caiolo’s.
The break was lovely and romantic and we got the first big snow of the season, which was very exciting. Unfortunately, since we’ve returned, I’ve had to get my nose back down to the old grindstone.
To leave you with a recipe, I made the Pioneer Woman’s Monkey Bread last night, but I made it at a friend’s house so I don’t have any pictures. I used some canned biscuit dough for the sake of ease and ingredient transport. They really did turn out exactly like hers, though. They were super easy and tasty little things! All cinnamon-y and sweet and sticky. They would be lots of fun for kids to help make and eat!
